That means only 1/4" backhand foam and then a combination synthetic hair padding for extra hand safety. Beautiful work, great quality and comfort.I knew Al Shevlin and his starting out and the family carrying on his tradition. Flawless quality, easy to work with too. Just remember to order the right size for you and to expect the glove to be very tight when you first receive them. Training gloves of this type need breaking in, just like a new baseball glove. Order with confidence and enjoy. Grant makes a nice modern foam filled glove, but the two types are, feel and react differently........Good luck. Billboxing
