Training gloves are designed to be used also for sparring. The padding is a little different in them. They will not hold up as long as a bag glove if what your focusing on is hitting the bags only.
The hand compartment in these is a little tighter than usual for the "regular" size, but breaks in with usage. I use a regular size and I'm 6'2". My hands are a size XL for any other type of athletic glove (football or baseball) for reference. Hope that helps.
