I am new here and have question. Im looking to get a water heavy bag 120lbs. I amtrying to decide between the Title water bag and the New Everlast Hydrostrike bag for MMA training purposes etc weight loss.
I think they probably are both very good bags. I want to know if the foam is better than without foam.
3 inches foam on the tile may be too much.
The Everlast has a 1 1/2 inch foam between the bag and water core which may be better.
Or maybe it would be better to have no foam and just the water bag.
I know Everlast makes a great bag no matter what and that Tile has a very good rep too(as well as 10 year warranty, I not sure Everlast gives that)
Anyway if you guys could give me some input i would appreciate it.
I feel that the water bag will be better and easier on the joints and nice to hit and ide like the cardio.
Or should i just stick with a good regular bag like the UFC MMA bag?
Jah Guide , and happy holidaze :fighting::dance::deadhorse::deadhorse:
I bought and returned the everlast water bag, it's a hassle to fill and it doesn't have the feel at all of a regular heavy bag. I would stick with the regular traditional heavy bag. And no, everlast does not make the best bags no matter what, I learned the hard way =(. If you can afford it try to go to your gym and see if they can special order a bag that they use.
Thanks 4 the advice because I was seriously debating getting an Everlast Hydrostrike 120 lb. I had a feeling it may not be all that. I am using and Everlast 70lb mma kit bag that i bought at walmart for 77 bucks last week. I was thinking about returning it..
All and all its a decent bag for what i want to do which is get in shape and get my hands moving. It needs to be broken in . I hit it a little with gloves and banged it with a metal pipe a little to soften it up.
I was thinking about the water bag in the 100+ lb range because im big 6 ft 275 lbs and i can put more force at it without tooo much strain. I think without foam is probably the way to go. I like the Title water bag looks solid 10 yr warranty. I might do it for $ 129 its a good deal for the 140lb model.
Im glad you told me bout the Everlast but it still may be decent everyone has different opinions but i probably wont by it now, i was really gonna do it.
The Tile looks solid i think without foam better(3 inches of foam too much).
Ok Man Happy Holidays,

The problem with the cheap heavy bags you buy at walmart or local sports stores is that over time the material sinks to the bottom and hardens. You can flip it over from time to time but eventually the bag just takes on "teardrop" shape. The one thing about the everlast hydro bag is that the bag's shape is awkward as the water doesn't settle straight. Also when you hit it feels funny and personally I didn't like it at all. I wish you nothing but luck with the hydrobag, and I know theres a guy on this forum who works at title, maybe you can ask him about their hydrobag.
This is just my opinion, but I totally thought my everlast bag was okay until I joined a pro gym and felt their heavybags which are all 200lb+. I'm only a jr welterweight at 140 lb but I really like working on a 200lb bag. If you have room and can hang it and can afford it, i'd buy a pro style 200lb bag especially for a guy your size. But again that's just my opinion and I wish you nothing but luck on that hydrobag!
With a guy your size, you should be looking at 150lb bags. I recommend the title and Ringside models that have the foam liner and "soft fill". Its what we use in my gym and they are fantastic.
Im actually going to be trying out the Title model soon in my garage.
Depending on budget, these are what I would absolutely recommend to you:
If you have the means, the Title Leather heavybag is probably the way I'd go. They make excellent products, and members of our forum are given a 20% discount on pricing. You really cant beat that. (In fact, thats exactly what Im doing as well.)
EDIT:
To get the discount, send a PM to member Titleboxing and ask him (Bret) what your price would be. Remember to give him the model number from the titleboxing website.
Ok thanks 4 the advice and I agree most of the comercial bags out there are too hard, unless you beat them real good with a bat. For some reason i think a good water bag without foam is the move 4 me. I probably am aiming at the Title 140 lb water no foam(10 year warrantee).
The bags that i saw i went to Models, Sports Authority etc etc were not the best. The one i liked i saw at ****'s The UFC MMA 100 lb bag was nice and had a little give when i hit it, It felt good.
As I am new member here i will have to wait a month to get a discount.
Anyway I appreciate your advice guys and wish you happy holidays.
I bought the Title Leather 100lb heavy bag and for what you pay its an amazing quality bag from what I have seen so far. I train twice a day 5 times a week and the bag is in great shape. Personally I would go with a traditional heavy bag or try out the new Title Gel Heavy Bags in 150lb that have a gel lining. I would like to get one of those but will have to be later. I am 6.0 195.
Thanks 4 the advice. I was intent on buying the water bag but i thought about it and opted to buy the TKO 100 pound vinyl bag from eBay with free shipping the price was right and i thought what if the water bag breaks etc.
The TKO Bag is nice and big so i can work my punching and kicking combos on it.
Its a good bag in my opinion for what i need to do.
I still want a water bag but i feel the real bag is better for developing the hand punching power. Its all good im just happy i have something to pound on and let off some steam.
I appreciate all the advice all you guys gave Jah Guide Peace JD:saw::tumbleweed:
