TheBigDiesel is a rookie! Class in session...
What a sad day

Man i was so bummed when i came home from work today. I just got a new puppy a month ago, and up until now he has been fine with my gym bag being on the floor where i always toss it after a workout. Well today i came home to find one of my grant super bag gloves torn to shreds on the floor Now the Big D is a bit sad a puppy we saved from the pound and got for free messed up my favorite pair of gloves.

that's exactly how i felt earlier this year when i ruined a bunch of pairs of gloves accidentally (including my favorite pair - also grant super bag gloves).

You know those glove dog things for deodorizing gloves?
I made some out of DampRid, a desiccant that you use to keep storage sheds dry.
Well the DampRid sucked all the oil (or silicone based treatment) out of the leather.
Basically turned supple leather into beef jerky; even leather treatment couldn't save them.
So I lost my Grants, my IMFs, and most of my other back up gloves all in one shot.

Ordered some custom shevlins as a replacement & they took like 8 weeks.
All for a kickboxing event where it turned out they were the wrong size.
I would've had to buy new gloves again.
That was basically the straw that broke the camel's back.
It totally capped my frustration levels.
So I haven't really been working out much since.
Decided to take some time off and spend it with my newborn.

The saddest thing is that I still miss my Grants.

yah man that really sucks, damp rid is some nasty stuff lol, i sell it where i work. I just use some nice cedar planks in my gloves and they work out great, give them a nice smell and sucks out all the moisture. food for thought if you ever start to work out seriously again

yeah i definitely want to go cedar next time.
i experimented with paper based hamster bedding and it's a total pain in the azz; only got it because i couldn't find cedar.
i'd like to start working out again, it's just my motivation & free time that are lacking - my priorities have shifted.
