Standing Heavy Bag.

Hello,

I hope this is the correct place to post this so here i go:

Since i live in a dormer i can't hang up a Heavy Bag since it probably takes the roof down with him when i hit it to hard.

So now i've looked into some standing boxing bags but i have no clue what the better/durable brands are for standing bags.
One of my old trainers in the gym i was says some good things about WaveMaster but i found it pretty expensive (it's almost €390 / $550 here).

I found some and like to know what are the pros and cons about them and if anybody has some personal experience with them.

Here is a handful of Standing Heavy Bags I can buy:

- Taurus Standing Heavy Bag
€230,-

Taurus Box-Man 'Trainings partner'
€280,-

Taurus Standing 'Reflex'heavy bag
€350,-

Hammer 'Trainings Parner' (named) Perfect Punch
€388,-

WaveMaster XXL
€388,-

Century BOB - Body Opponent Bag
€388,-

-------------

I put the prices with it since my next question will be:
Is the price difference between the WaveMaster and other standing bags worth it? (around €150,- to €100,- in difference).

What can i do more with it than a regular heavy standing bag?

And those torso-like 'bags', are those good to practice on or is it better to stick with the regular bags?
And if the first, is Century the brand to go with or what are the experiences with the above brands here?

Can't find much info about the quality of Taurus, is it any good?

And for those who have used a standing bag before, is it advised to put a rubber mat under it? Even when filled with sand?

------------

Some info:
I have trained a couple of years 'for fun' boxing, or Recreational Boxing as they tend to call it here.
Both of the trainers i trained with left the gym and now there is some guy who knows **** about teaching, so i quit the gym (came out better since in have not much spare time) and am looking for a bag to train at home.
For the reason above i can't use a hanging Heavy Bag otherwise i would use the same as the gym.
Do regular boxing, no kick boxing.

If any information is needed, please let me know.

Any help would be appreciated,
Thank you

I have tried a Wavemaster before and liked it. It is ideal if you cannot hang a bag. I don't know where you live so the prices might be different, but you shouldn't have to give more than half the price you quoted here in the U.S. I have seen one on sale, Wavemaster XXL, for $250 before last year, but I was out of state and it wouldn't fit in the trunk of the car so I couldn't bring it home.

I have never heard of Taurus brand either, except in pistols.

My friend has a "Bob" stand. He bought it at a department store for $215 plus tax this year. The Bob is good for technique and accuracy, but it is not made to be hit full blast like a heavy bag.

Hello,
Thank you for the response

I live in The Netherlands, they tend to put an € sign in USD prices.
And after that, they put a whole 19% TAX over it.. That's the reason for the prices

Also was in the States last month for vacation and the prices where also shocking low (for me) but couldn't bring the bag with me in the airplane.

---

And that Hammer brand, heard anything about it?
Or do you know other alternatives for the WaveMaster (Brands etc.), perhaps if i search for it, i might fnd it here,

Thanks
