I am a huge fan of Winning's headgear. Super comfortable, and absorbs almost all the shock.

Just finished our new headgear to compete with these fg-2900 but designed more for muaythai and mma. Our headgear offers a bit more padding then the fg-2900, a high grade leather shell, and a soft comfortable easy to clean Japanese microfiber suede inner liner. All for half the price of the fg-2900.

Silverback Training Headgear - $99.00*USD

no offence but why tell people you are 'competing with Winning' when you clearly can't?

of course my company can't compete with winning my company is tiny that does 1% of the business that winning does, but it won't stop me from trying to design kick ass gear. I didn't make a winning fg-2900 clone here, i took what i learned from my previous batch and from ripping apart various headgears from winning, Adidas, twins, rival, and grant to make this headgear, and my head is already spinning on the next version.

now i'm looking for someone to compare it to a winning fg-2900. i'm just picking on the winning, because from all the info i see online people seem to put it on a Pedestal. so why not just shot for the top and see how it competes with the best, head to head in an unbiased comparative review

as for the FG-2900 i think this is awesome headgear for boxing but i have my reservations for muay thai and or mma because it is so soft.
I have both, I made a review on Sherdog not along ago titled "Fg-5000 vs FG-2900"

To answer your question, the padding on the forehead is identical. The difference is the nosebar on the 5000 compared to the cheek padding on the 2900.

Structually the 5000 is more solid and consequently weighs a bit more (20oz)

I would love to review the GFG headgear in comparison to the 5000 and 2900 for you, it's always great to see people take great pride in their designs.

If your offering, I'm more than willing to do a thorough write up my friend.

wow it's been a while if anyone is curious we ended up making a affordable winning style headgear which is on sale till xmas for only $20 regular price is $49. is not as comfy as the but it does offer a bit better protection and for 1/4 the price you can't go wrong.

Best Headgear for the Price
