Post Review: Title GEL Training Gloves

This review is for Title Boxing's new GEL hook and loop Training Gloves.

I'm always excited to try out the latest gear in the boxing world, and todays product is no exception. The new GEL series of training gloves from Title Boxing are available in hook and loop or lace up versions and in 12oz, 14oz, or 16oz weights. They are constructed of all genuine leather with a gel lining and multi layer foam padding. The hook and loop closure is a heavy duty stretch fabric about 4" wide with an industrial grade velcro fastener. The gloves have a formed fit, and attached thumb as is the standard with all professional quality gloves. The pair I recieved were 12oz weight (my preference)black with white thumb and wrist and are quite attractive.
Shipping was quick and reasonable, and their customer support was very helpful and readily available (even on the Sunday that I called to order them, expecting to get voicemail). Although a bit pricey at the sale price of $69.99, it was evident upon recieving them it was money well spent.

The gloves initially felt a bit stiff, but this is to be expected from most new gloves. They fit a bit more snugly than than my lace up Ringside Bag gloves, and have surprisingly good support for a hook and loop glove. There is no feeling of wrist insecurity, and no "looseness" when wearing these. After about 10 solid workout sessions on the heavy bag, they have just started to break in and feel more comfortable. There are no noticeable inconsistencies in the padding and they are very even and protective throughout. Fit and finish of the gloves is excellent with well stitched seams and cuts. As far as performance and protection goes, I can honestly say that these gloves offer the best padding and knuckle protection of any glove I have used, period. Their Gel and foam padding absorbs the hardest punch impacts with ease, and leaves your hands feeling surprisingly good after a hard workout.

Overall, I think these are an excellent training and bag glove. When you're ready to upgrade or replace your gloves, I recommend taking a goodlook at the Title GEL series.

Ratings (1-10, 10 being the highest)
Quality:9
Value:8
Performance:9
Comfort:7

Pro's: Well constructed, excellent padding and protection, good support, good looks
Cons: A bit pricey, but you get what you pay for here
Manufacturer: Title Boxing
Price: $69.99 (sale) at Titleboxing.com

Those are good looking gloves. I might check those out when I need a new pair.

I'm skeptical about buying these now, cuz I just read a review on another message board. The guy pretty much said the same thing as you CA, with how amazing they are....he followed up 6 months later saying the gel was already starting to break apart and he only used the gloves on the bag 3 times a week.

Well, I can t speak yet to their durability as i've only had mine for about a month. So far they've been very good.

If you want a similar glove that I can attest to their durability on, then take a look at the Ringside IMF Tech glove. They are fantastic.

Oh, and just to be fair:

If you're training 3 days a week for 6 months, MOST gloves will start to break down at that point. Some will yield a little more durability, and some a little less but 6 months of abuse is not too bad actually.

Ive never came across a glove that last over 6 months, well I mean they last but the padding is completely worn.
