Post REVIEW: Adidas 'Shadow' Boxing Gloves

When I first saw these gloves in the store, they were pretty shinny and expensive (I live in Brazil, everything is more expensive here and these gloves were around 160$) and it got my attention. I felt tempted but I decided to check someplace else to buy it. I found it on internet for much less, done deal.

- About the Gloves: These gloves are a little different than usual and they have a peculiar smell, plastic smell. They are indeed different, made of "Maya nubuck-II 100% PU hi-tec" - whatever this means it is some sort of artificial leather, it feels a little bit slickier than real leather when you rub it. These gloves are said to have a high-tech ventilation system and that seems to be the case, my hands arent as wet and hot(I know sounds weird) as usual when I take them off, pretty good on training because as time wears on they feel like as if you are just starting, so you can still feel the gloves tight.
When it comes to the impact they feel smoothly soft in the hands and they fit really well, theres no discomfort when you punch with full power, no irritations. As for the other impact (in my face), its not bad but not as hard as cleto Reyes for sure, not exactly the hardest punching gloves I ever used.

If you're looking for something comfortable these gloves are one of the best you'll ever find. They feel a bit different but are really good. Avaliable at 10,12,14 and 16 oz.

Ratings:
Comfort: 10
Performance(power): 6,5
(impact absortion): 9
Looks: 8
Durability: cant tell yet.

Manufacturer: Adidas
Availiable here

Nice review Mega
I've never used the adidas gloves but have been tempted many times to pick up a pair. I may just make them my next choice...

It says in small writing at the bottom of the package:

"In order to respect environment, adidas technology has chosen to use PU outside cover for the boxing gloves, which can be recycled."

Which i'm thinking could explain the smell perhaps.

Deeply sorry for digging this thread up but I got these gloves as a gift today and I was wondering if you'd still need to wear hand wraps aswell? It seems tight as it is around the wrists without wearing wraps.

Thanks in advance

Once you work them in a bit they loosen up enough that putting them on with wraps isn't difficult.

Personal prefrence I suppose as to wheather you wear wraps or not, I do, haven't trained with these gloves without wraps, so couldn't tell you what it's like.

Enjoy!

These fuvkers fall apart all the time...the leather peals away after a few months of bag and sparring.

I never used themso i cant comment on comfort ect, my trainer had a deal with addidas and alot of my gymmates wore them, there worthless haha
