That's why there does need to be some government oversight concerning health care. We've just seen that untethered capitalism will collapse on itself if lead to it's own devices. Unlike allot of other expenditures, health care is not a thing people can choose not to buy, we must have it, the industry knows this and charges whatever it wants, it has a guaranteed customer base. I'm a true blue capitalist, but I want government protection from the evils of it just as I want protection from foreign invasion. believe it, the destructive nature of the two aren't that much different.
