Louis Monaco

You guys know of him? Louis Monaco . He is like 16 wins and 36 losses. The interesting thing about this guy is when he had about 10 fights under his belt, he was fighting the likes of Michael Grant and Jeremy Williams with these guys having over 20 fights already. But the list goes on and on with name opponents, another being Vitali Klitschko. Quite frankly I don't like this. This guy is being put in there just to pad up other fighters' records and in the process he is being knocked out and severely beaten at times. There should be a point where "boxing" those that have the power, step in and prevent such situations from happening. I see this as black eye for boxing.

Even if a fighter is not old and doesn't show signs of brain damage, don't you guys think someone like Louis Monaco should not be allowed to fight? This guy probably has a family and is literally getting knocked out to make a living. This is not the way it should be.

If that's all he can do to support his family, why stop him? He knows the dangers involved.

It's no black eye. The Facelifter knew his limitations. He had power and that's about it. He knew his biggest pay days would only come from name opponents. So he took the fights. Losing to most of them. He does hold wins over Peter McNeeley, a than unbeaten Kevin McBride, and a shot Michael Dokes. And should have a win over Buster Douglas. But got DQ'ed in a bullshiit call. I also had him beating mediocre prospect Malik Scott in there first fight.

One thing about Monaco is muthafukka was cut. Looked like they carved his ass out of granite.

He looked like he should have been on the world's strongman competitions, and might have been more suited for that. Definitely lacked skills and he got blown out a couple of times that I remember offhand, the ko loss to Jeremy Williams was bad.

Monaco is a good example to bring up. Padded records are always part of the mix. Sean O'Grady immediately comes to mind. He really fought some cream puffs. That said, it's still a lot safer now for fighters than back in the days, when the ref wouldn't stop fights nearly as fast as today. There's a lot more working in the fighters favor, heck they didn't even have ambulances at fights until in the 80's I think.

I might be overreacting but I do feel sorry for the guy. I don't want to watch any more of his fights for fear he will get hurt. From the replies you guys probably disagree with me but I feel there should be a point where fighters should not be allowed to box if they have shown no skill and no improvement and have obviously lost most of their fights, even if they are younger.

Can't feel bad for volunteers. I understand what you're getting at but resume padding has been common place since prizefighting first took form. A little sad but what can you do.
