Anybody else excited about this young Light Heavyweight? He's 25, has a record of 8(6)-0 and he's beaten Montell Griffin, Epifanio Mendoza, Byron Mitchell, Donnell Wiggins and Lavell Finger. That's a hugely impressive resume for a fighter who's fought only 8 times. I'm very excited to see what he can do and he is a very welcome addition to the LHW division.

I haven't seen him fight yet but his resume does look damn good after 8 fights, even if Griffin/Mitchell are way past their best its still pretty impressive. I was trying to download his fights with Griffin & Mitchell awhile ago but it was from some Russian site and was going to take like 36 hours to download.
Even if those fighters are past it the fact that hes taking these fights so early in his career shows that he means buisness. Ive only seen him fight once found a video on dailymotion.com, you guys might try it it problaby still there.

at this pace he may be in a title eliminator by his 12th pro fight. That is impressive.
His 9th fight is for the WBA Light Heavyweight title against an 18-2 guy named Gabriel Campillo. It's sh1t opposition but it's his 9th fight and he's fighting for a version of the WBA LHW title. The guy has ambition because he's fought in the USA many times, fighting guys who most fighters use as a stepping stone in there 20th fight and stuff.
8-0 (6 KOs) and now he's fighting for a world title.

A version? Isn't it THE title? Campillo won the belt from Garay, who to my knowledge was the legit Champ. Garay's most notable fights came against undefeated Lineal Light Heavyweight Champion Zsolt Erdei, and he prolly should have beat Erdei at least once.
Anyways, if this kid Shumenov wins the title he's going places. LHW division is lookin better and better.

It's the WBA, they'll find someway to create a super belt, champion in recess and all this other sh1t in order to have about 3 WBA champions alone. Hence why I say a version .
But yeah, Campillo beat Garay and is the legit champion. If Shumenov beats Campillo then that makes for a very interesting division. Cloud, Shumenov, Dawson, Erdei, Pascal, Cleverly.. good stuff.

He should beat Campillo pretty easy. He's too good.
He's like a combination of a Yuriorkis Gamboa and Andre Berto only with more ring smarts.Altough I thought he was a bit lackluster against Mendoza he was very good with Griffin and Mitchell who had 14 lbs on him.
I think Universum wil cash out Erdei withhim and Shumenov will become the lineal champion.
Well it seems he ain't that good lol......he lost a close hard fought entertaining 12 round UD.
Campillo foght the same type of fight like he did against Garay and Shumenov got tired. Both were down in the fight.
This puts his career on a stop but I think he can regroup and comeback.Would be nice if he did it on tv.
It's not all that bad. To fight for a World Title in your 9th pro bout shows the kid has ambition. It's time to regroup, go back to fighting solid opposition and gain the much needed experience and then go back for another shot.
