A middleweight clash between Kelly Pavlik and Sergio Martinez is inching closer to a finalized deal. Pavlik, the WBC/WBO champion, will defend the titles against Martinez at the Boardwalk Hall in Atlantic City on April 17.

BoxingScene.com was informed that both sides have "verbally" agreed to the financial terms. A deal is not a "done deal" until both fighters sign the contracts, but Top Rank and Lou DiBella are confident the fight will move forward. I've heard HBO has been already notified about the latest developments.

In the co-feature, undefeated IBF super middleweight champion Lucian Bute will defend his title against Edison Miranda. The HBO televised co-feature takes place in Canada via split-feed.

The most avoided man in boxing has been left out again.

The movement will kill Pavlik and see Martinez winning a wide UD

Williams was lucky cause of his high work rate I scored that fight a draw

This fights all wrong for Pavlik. If he can't catch or hurt Martinez he ain't winning

Martinez wins a unanimous decision. Assume Pavlik makes it to the ring of course. Pavlik is a Fraud with a capital F.

And people think he had problems with Hopkins. Pavlik is a rinse and repeat fighter who like those before him only got so far. He was recently destroyed by a man what 17 years older? Pavlik is done.He's a paper tiger. The head left the building.
