***Manny Pacquiao vs Timothy Bradley official thread***
"Yes, he's dirty," stated WBO welterweight champion Manny Pacquiao, who recently shared his thoughts on Timothy Bradley, his proposed June 9th opponent. Apparently, Pacquiao shares the same sentiments as his trainer, Freddie Roach, who believes that Bradley purposely uses his head in fights to injure his opponents. It's a tactic that hasn't gone unnoticed by the 8-division world champion.
"I've noticed it. He uses his head," Pacquiao would tell Abac Cordero of The Philippine Star. Although Manny seems unfazed about the risk of suffering a cut due to a headbutt, it's a much more serious concern for his trainer, who thinks Bradley could pose problems if he's able to get away with any "dirty tactics".
"He's a dirty fighter, well, he's a physical fighter. He uses his head, elbows, so forth. Manny does have some trouble with that because Manny can't retaliate," Roach explained to Chris Robinson of Examiner.com. "I tell Manny that if a guy hits you low, hit him back low, but he won't do that. So, the thing is, it could pose a bit of a problem. But the thing is, his speed and his power should be too much for him. It should be an exciting fight as long as it lasts."
While this isn't the first time that Bradley has been accused of purposely using his head, it is interesting to see Pacquiao take a little shot at his opponent before the fight is officially signed. In fact, he also took another shot at Bradley. "He will run," he added, suggesting that Bradley won't be too eager to stand and trade with him when the two finally do meet in the ring.

Timothy Bradley: "freddie Is A Little Worried...manny Comes In With His Head As Well"
By Ben Thompson
"That doesn't bother me, man. It just shows Freddie is a little worried about this fight. That stuff doesn't get under my skin. People have said worse things about me before," stated WBO jr. welterweight champion Timothy Bradley, who responded to recent comments made by Hall of Fame trainer Freddie Roach, accusing him of being a dirty fighter. According to both Roach and Pacquiao, Bradley intentionally uses his head to inflict damage upon his opponents. It's an accusation that Bradley has heard before from his opponents, but he's not bothered by it at all and he doesn't plan on making any changes to his style of fighting.
"He can complain and call me a dirty fighter, this and that, but at the end of the day, we still have to get it on. The last time I checked, it's a boxing match, it's a fight. You know, it's a fight. It doesn't matter what English he's trying to work. It's not going to bother me and it's not going to stop me from doing what I do," he explained during a recent interview with his local newspaper, noting that headbutts are common in boxing and it's not something that he does on purpose.
According to Bradley, even Pacquiao has been at fault at times when he's involved in a clash of heads. "The headbutt situation, I don't do it intentionally. I will say this, they say I come in with my head, Manny comes in with his head as well. I watched many of his tapes. I've seen this guy, he's a great fighter, best in the world, and he does it. He comes in with his head as well," he continued.
Bradley is convinced that Roach's comments are a clear sign that he's rightfully concerned about him being Pacquiao's next opponent. "Freddie just has to worry about Manny Pacquiao. All the talk, whatever. It just sounds like he's worried. It sounds like he's a little worried," he added, confident that for the first time in a long time, Team Pacquiao has something to be worried about.

It's not gonna be a pretty fight. High risk of headbutts, slips, foot stepping and awkward herky jerky exchanges.

i don't think pac is making "excuses", as a fighter u wouldnt be pleased if you're fighting a headbutter who headbutts in every fight.

I agree with this. I think Pacquiao can win, but he's got to be careful really.

This is going to be an interesting fight, I think Pacquiao's way above the guy though. Too strong.

Speaking of dirty fighters, is there a rule about how dirty you can actually be when you enter a ring?
I mean, can you not bathe for a few days as a tactic to distract your opponent? It would also keep the ref from getting too close when you sneak in your punches just at the belt line.
If you know your opponent is the type who clutches and grabs, is it legal to, instead of vaseline on your face, use limburger?
