After Zbik I honestly felt Martinez would blitz Chavez. I did predict that Zbik had a good chance because I ended up watching a lot of their fights and saw Chavez look pretty bad in sparring VS Vanes. I also saw that Zbik had decent boxing skills.
Right now, if Chavez makes weight without too much trouble, he may have a chance, but I really see Martinez hurting him. Chavez is strong, but he is slow, and his defense is pretty damn open. You can't be walking into Martinez's jabs and left hand that slow because he will hurt you. If Chavez can get close, he may do some good body work but I feel Martinez has good enough footwork to avoid most of it. He does tend to gas out or have some off rounds which may be dangerous for him, but he is pretty durable. Andy Lee was tailor made for Chavez and in some ways, I feel Martin Murray's workrate and style was not suited to Martinez, but I actually feel Chavez's plodding style is actually easier for him.
Chavez is said to take shots, but let's see him take shots he doesn't see, because his chin will be questioned. I have Martinez winning by TKO or UD because the speed and even power he possesses is a lot more than Zbik and Lee.

Add a poll so we can measure this...
I"m saying Martinez by decision. Chavez has convinced me over the last 3 fights that he won't get knocked out. I'm not gonna go out and pick him, but I think his pressure will give Martinez problems and make it a competitive fight.
I would love nothing more though for Martinez to lay him out P.Will II style

Both Murray and Macklin gave Martinez more troubles than necessary.

How tiny will the ring be this time for Chavez Jr.? Will Sergio Martinez be fighting with pillow padded big fat gloves like Manfredo and Zbik were?

Martinez is about as big as Chavez star wise, I think they do whatever it takes to make sure things are nice and even.... or, that's what I'd like to think, with Chavez's connections eh.....

He never fought Murray. He fought Barker then Macklin and scored late round KOs both times.

Wasn't it Chavez Jr. that fought Murray?
