Glen Johnson friday night fight score cards...
Did anyone else think the scores were way too wide? The 99-91 scorecard is utterly ridiculous.
I scored it a draw, yet all 3 judges had it wide for Fanfora or whatever his name is. Is it my card that is out of line or I am correct in saying the judges once again were terrible?

Glen Johnson should hang em up, he shouldn't have problems with a guy I've never even heard of. Draw or not, who is this guy Johnson fought? I've never heard of him before...

Glen Johnson Says Fonfara Loss is His Last Fight
Glen Johnson Says Fonfara Loss is His Last Fight - Boxing News
43-year-old former world champion Glen Johnson (51-17-2, 35 KOs) is ready to call it a career. The longtime veteran who holds wins over Roy Jones Jr. and Antonio Tarver, lost a clear ten round unanimous decision to “Polish Prince” Andrzej Fonfara (22-2, 12 KOs) at the UIC Pavilion in Chicago. The scores were 97-93, 99-91 and 97-93. Afterwards, Johnson said the ESPN televised loss was his final appearance in the ring as a fighter.

Im glad he knows when to call it quits, hopefully he lives up to it....that wife of his seemed a money grabber in the showtime supersix build up...
Johnson did really well late in his career despite his age, never a hof worthy fighter but he should be remembered for what he has done.

The 99-91 card was wide, however the other two were 7-3 which I could understand. I thought 6-4 was an appropriate score. I'm glad Johnson is hanging them up though. Can't say enough good things about him, his career, and his heart. Hope he's earned enough that we won't see him in the ring again.

I could be wrong, but I see Johnson as a fighter smart with his money and don't think he has wasted it on Mansions and cars. I don't think that is in his personality. But someone on this topic mentioned that they believe his wife is a gold-digger... I hope not...

Farewell To THE ROAD WARRIOR. The epitome of a fighter who will fight anyone. He came down to super middle weight for the first time in 10 yearsat age 41, and knocked out Allan Green. He may have several losses, but you just have to see his resume and notice that he would take up any challenge.

I'm both sad and happy about Johnson's retirement. I'm sad because he was one of my favorites and he always came to fight, no matter what his age or who his oponent was. I'm happy because he realises that it is time to hang them up while he's still in good shape and in good health.
His record is very deceiving. When looking at a 51-17-2 record, one would assume that they are looking at the record of journeyman fighter, but in reality they are looking at the record of one of the toughest and most solid contenders of the last 15 years. Johnson would fight anyone and gave nearly everyone a very tough fight. Only being stopped once, by the ATG Bernard Hopkins, in 70 fights is something to be very proud of, especially when sharing the ring with guys like Tarver, Jones Jr, Dawson, Froch, Bute, and others.
I can't think of one time in his career when Johnson was cut any breaks in scoring, and he was the victim of corrupt or incompetent scoring numerous times. Hopefully he'll have a good retirement and hang onto the money he made.

He was the Road warrior and that he is, if he had a little more power his career may have been differe,t because he is always there, he was there to be robbed some rounds. Great fighter IMO.

Had Fonfara up by a point, that 99-91 scorecard was a disgrace.
Glad to see a fighter that knows when to hang them up, Johnson is a true warrior, fought the best and gave most of them hell. Thanks for the memories Road Warrior.
