Is Trout that big of a name? I'm kind of shocked this fight is happening, isn't this a high-risk/low-reward type fight for Cotto? I don't think most casual fans know who Trout is. Trout and his people must have made an offer to Cotto that he couldn't refuse? What is Cotto getting like 90 percent of the money? Trout is looking for name recognition on his resume, so it wouldn't shock me if he offered something to Cotto's people that Cotto couldn't refuse. I think I'm going with Trout by decision win.

He isn't a huge name, but he won't be the most difficult guy to sell. He has a better team behind him now to market him, as he signed with Haymon earlier this year.
But before Haymon got him, he already was the 154 WBA champion, and is still undefeated. Not a huge name, but I think they will be able to sell this fight with an undefeated American world champion.
Haymon doesn't have a bad product to start with and try and sell.

Trout has the skills to get the job done but Cotto is relentless (unless you have cement in your gloves of course). So its definitely a pick'em fight. I slightly favor Cotto in this fight as of now however. I say slightly because its hard to go against Trout's ringsmanship. He knows how to work all corners and he knows what he's capable of and never steps outside of his strengths. I favor Cotto but I'm rooting for Trout.

Cotto by Ud. Trout will fight too much on the back foot, and he does not seem to have the power to slow Cotto down.

Cotto by UD or late stoppage, Trout is not an exciting fighter to watch, I'll watch this fight only to see if Cotto still has something to offer to fans.

Me neither, not if Cotto comes in shape, Trout does not know how to trow a deliberate jab and fights way too cautiously... it will be semi -entertaining.
