You bringing up Pacquiao is not even the point here. Interesting that you do bring him up. The point was people like yourself were going on about how this is the best Miguel Cotto facing Mayweather, how much better he is now than at 147 - we can go back to the posts to dig them out. My point was the fight was a cherry pick, Cotto was shot after his beatings by Marg and Pac. That's the point, not that Mayweather cherry picks generally, but that Cotto was shot already despite you guys bigging him up.
But interesting that your response is to bring up Pacquiao when I did not mention Pacquiao at all in this
Fact is Cotto is a natural welterweight who is too lazy to make weight now. HE saw easy paydays at 154, and yet still insists on some opponents at light-mid fighting at 150 (Margarito) - yet funnily enough he won't fight Pacquiao at 150. He is not a light middleweight as I said all along and it's been shown beyond doubt as he was handled with ease by Trout and failed to cause any damage.
If Cotto can't be bothered doing what all boxers have to do and make weight at 147 he should just retire because he's just not big enough at 154. Chavez has to drain himself senseless to make weight, yet still managed to muster enough to KO the best MW around after being schooled for 11 rounds...
As for Pacquiao you're criticising him, because Pacquiao, more of a natural LW than WW, fought a guy who probably weighed 20lb more than him on fight night because "he took a year off" and didn't look that good in a fight
funny you mention Marquez, the guy who Mayweather fought, making him come up 2 weights, agreeing to a catchweight, and then coming 2lb over that catchweight...at least him and Pacquiao had a history and Marquez had already fought at that weight. Not to mention both fighters are naturally the same size....

I never said Cotto was better or prime when he fought Mayweather. I said he was not weight drained and he was at full strength, which he was. There is no denying that at 154 Cotto was looking solid, he performances against Foreman, Mayorga, and Margarito were top notch and there is no taking that from him.
I brought up Pac because if you're going to say that Mayweather is running from him and cherry picking, I'm going to point out that Pac was the king of cherry picking after he fought Hatton outside of Cotto. He was fighting guys who posed no stylistic troubles for him up until Mosley, who was avoided by Pac's team until they saw how shot he really was. In late 2009/early 2010 when it was unknown that Shane had become a shot fighter Pac's team wanted nothing to do with him. They saw Mayweather put a whooping on him in May 2010 and watched Mora hold him to a draw in September 2010 and knew that Shane was done. His reflexes were gone and the last time he even really showed any flash of the old Shane was round 2 against Mayweather.
It's not worth going over where we stand on the May-Pac fight issue because we both know where you stand and where I stand.
