Personally I dont care if he was or not I rate and like fighters because what they do in the ring not out of it but I dont think he was a Racist he was just a victim of the times in the early 1970s im pretty sure he hasnt got these views now.

You have to realize what religious group he was a part of during that time...they were against integration. He's a much different man now.

Yep, I think they're pretty popular in Chicago...but over the years they've become less and less radical. Similar to the KKK, where recently I saw a poster of the hooded fellas holding up a sign that said "KKK Supports Obama"

Even if he was, you couldn't really blame him...... those were some fuccked up times, where the white men though he ruled everyone and everything.....they inflicted nothing but hatred and today they're doing it again..

"I went to the Olympics in Rome & I won a gold medal. When I came home I was met with adulation I was a hero. I even went to the White House as an honored guest to see the president. 3 weeks later I was refused service in a diner in Louisville Kentucky, my home town, just because of the colour of my skin. Tell me now who are the racists in this story"???? Can you blame Muhammad? The president of the united states invited him into his home yet the people of Louisville did not want to eat in the same diner.

yea racism in the USA is shocking an Olympic champ couldnt sit in a restaurant wtf like :| I once read Americans killed up to 95% of Natives( Indians ) Blacks couldnt sit same seats as a white man up until the 1960s Americas one of the most racist countries in the world!

So what you're saying is that Ali was justified in his racist actions, because he was on the receiving end in Louisville?

A lot of racists existed during the time period he was fighting, he may have been racist to some extent because at that time period people weren't exactly getting along the most. But then again I never heard of accusations of Foreman or Frazier being racist... So maybe I'm just looking for an excuse to protect Ali?

But I kind of agree with what you're say but at the same time I don't, because there's many Black athletes who no one ever accused of being racist, but maybe it was because Ali was so outspoken? Who knows, I'm not Ali so I don't know what he thought of white people or if he didn't view them as white people but just people... Isn't Ali himself part white? Not saying he couldn't still have problems with white people, because there's self-hating racists of all ethnicities. People really are weird.
