We're down to Arreola, Wilder and Jennings...but not Banks? Toss him in there. And don't count out Mitchell just yet. Anymore than people counted out Lewis when he was KO'd by an inferior. Or Wlad for that matter. It's possible Seth may improve.
Perhaps next it'll be "another Brit" exposed. Tyson Fury? David Price? Really? They'll go farther than Gerry Cooney? We'll see.
What would be good for boxing isn't false pride in the fact that a boxer has the same nationality as you do, but if that boxer is great, and a role model, and exciting to watch. Usually we get one of the three at best. "Exciting" can be anything from Chisora acting nuts to Tyson biting an ear.
That's part of why boxing isn't as popular as it once was. Not enough personalities.
That's why the discussion isn't at heavyweight, but about Pac, Mayweather, Broner, Froch and almost nobody else...those are the guys who might actually make a non-boxing fan tune-in.
