Inside the ring Hatton doesnt have much left, he's slower, his reflexes are shot, and his body is just worn out from so many grueling affairs and repeateddly ups and downs in weight in between fights.

Hatton was definitely rusty, his defense would have improved gradually, but would never be good seeing how it never was. His shots were obviously wide and slower than what they were 5 years ago, however they weren't really "bad" until the 6th or 7th round.
After seeing the way Hatton stormed out in the fight, I figured he'd get tired as the the fight went on, but I did not think he'd exhausted as he appeared to me. Hatton was leaving himself wide open for the left hook (primarily head, the body shot was a bit of a freak thing imo) and I'm surprised Senchenko's corner or Senchenko himself didn't pick up on it. If I were Senchhenko's corner, I'd have told him to feint a straight right and rip Hatton with a left hook as he took the bait, which he most likely would've considering his rust.
If the fight were an 8 rounder, Hatton would've definitely won and imo an 8 rounder would've been all around better for a comeback fight. 10 was just too ambitious for Ricky.

Well, I'm not sure he'd need to faint at all lol.. I mean, countless right hands were getting in... He could just have followed up with the simple combination, right hand-left hook.
Though he's an european fighter, and fights like that, Senchenko doesnt have a compact, textbook hook... Which was good news for Ricky... I mean, a fighter with better technical skills would have made Ricky pay in even worse fashion. Kotelnik would have beaten him into a pulp.
Anyways, at least there was no great damage in there. And retirement is probably for the best...
Unlike Roy, who was (sadly) kinda laughing when Kellerman was talking about Ricky retiring again, Ricky seems to get it.

I just hope this loss doesn't effect Ricky's mental health he went in there after 3 and a half years and beat his personal demons to get in shape and went in against a former world champion I agree with bill that an 8 rounder would have suited him better and he would have won!

While I though he didn't do so bad after being away for so long, he needs to stay retired, his head looked like a busted up tomato afterwards, which clearly indicates his body can no longer tolerate the demands and punishment of professional boxing, obviously his ego needed a bit more convincing and now that he's got it hopefully he'll be able to move on with his life.......

I don't think his face looked too bad considering Ricky forgot that he's allowed to slip and block punches.

Ricky tried to recapture the old magic. His head movements, slipping, and feinting lasted about 1.5 to 2 rounds.
He probabaly could have gotten up from the kd and might have survived to win a SD, but he might have also gotten battered the rest of the fight. Staying down and retiring probably the best decision for him at this point.

He should've had an 8 rounder. If the fight was 8 rounds he'd have won a decision, unfortunately he overestimated how much he'd have left in the tank in the 2nd half of the fight and was flattened by the nicely timed and placed hook to the body.

Sometimes pictures speak louder than words, but it pretty much displays everything you guys said, he had to convince himself, although the desire and fire may still be there, his body is no longer functioning on all trusters. !!!lol

At least Hatton seems to have put his fighting demons away.
