7 - Manny Pacquiao.
8 - Wladimir Klitschko
9 - Timothy Bradley
10 - Robert Guerrero

If this list makes sense to most of you guys then please tell what is needed to be a pound for pound member?

My understanding was that in order to be considered as a pound for pound guy you needed to be really good (if not great) at almost everything, technique, reflexes, stamina, power punching, etc. PLUS you needed to have beaten some guys who were considered the best available in the division.

Based on that, I wonder why TF is Adrien Broner at number 5?? The guy has proven he has the abilities, speed and power, but IMO he hasn't beaten any big names to deserve being in that position. I mean, he's ranked higher than Donaire!!

Mares beat Moreno who was at number 10 and now he's been replaced by Robert Guerrero, who also left Vitali Klitschko out the list.

I just don't get it.
Best fighters in the world regardless of weight class... You dont have to be good at everything... IF you're too powerful and tough for your size that might be enough...
Its subjective and overrated... I wouldnt try to hard thinking about it because its pointless

Do you believe Cotto is not really good or great in any of these? His Stamina was never good, but I feel that's not good enough to leave him off. Why do you feel he needs to be left off, why dont you actually post your list instead of trying to belittle me for having an opinion. When I stated cleaning out your diviison I wasn't saying that's the only thing you needed to have if that's the case a lot of the guys I listed wouldn't be on there. Off the top of my head only Ward and possbily Klitschko has cleaned out their divisions.
What I think about Cotto it really doesn't matter, if you think he deserves to be in your list it's your opinion and I see it just like that, I was only curious to know your point of view but it seems you took it as an attack.

My list would be as follows:

Andre Ward
Floyd Mayweather Jr
Sergio Martinez
Juan Manuel Marquez
Nonito Donaire
Wladimir Klitschko
Vitali Klitschko
Timothy Bradley
Adrien Broner
Abner Mares

Broner hasn't done anything at all to all of a sudden jump pass Klit, Pacquiao and especially Donaire, that's ridiculous.

Not only that, it's simply fantasy taking place in people's heads... I have no problem with people trying to order who is the best fighter in the world... But the importance a list like this has is absolutely ridiculous.

Divisional rankings are actually more meaningful as it should consider real merit/work to be ranked high (instead of imaginary "I think would beat" or "looks good"), and considers fighters that can ACTUALLY FIGHT EACH OTHER.

Now The Ring has put Vitali tied with Bradley in the ninth spot...

Since they put Manny and Floyd tied in 2nd position, I knew they would start doing things like that more often, it seems they have started now...

I would also add to that mental toughness which is probably the most important quality to have when it comes to sporting prowess

First point, the ring magazine p4p list is a joke.

For me a p4p guy is the man in his division and has the skill, talent, ring IQ, speed, power and all round ability to beat most other fighters on the planet if weight was not an issue. That is in fact the original reason for creating a p4p list, because Sugar Ray Robinson was just so damn good.

For what it's worth, my top 10 p4p is:

1. Floyd Mayweather
2. Sergio Martinez
3. Nonito Donaire
4. Andre Ward
5. Juan Manuel Marquez (interchangeable with Ward)
6. Wlad Klitschko
7. Manny Pacquiao
8. Carl Froch
9. Abner Mares
10. Timothy Bradley
