Kahn
Anybody see an improved Kahn against Molina? Looks like the same Kahn. Still looks like a decent puncher could time him during one of his flurries and hurt him. If Molina had power, it would have been more competitive.

He was still getting hit too often, if Molina had any power I think he would have been knocked out.

Khan will always start to fade after the first 5 rounds, especially when hes getting hit by someone with decent power. You can always tell his legs start going once hes getting tagged. They were giving him loads of credit for the combinations he was throwing against Molina but you can afford to do that when you know there is not going to be anything dangerous coming back. I have to laugh.."I want to clean up the 140 division and then move to 147"...So he then goes out and fights a lightweight..a small, no powered lightweight at that...big statement haha.

Khan didn't really improve. Roach was not the problem, it was Khan, and it always will be Khan. He refuses to calm down and not throw rapid combinations and step back to refocus. He's either throwing combinations or running. Against Molina, he was getting hit repeatedly by counter left hooks. If Molina had more pop, Khan would've been KTFO again. This is why Danny Garcia most likely beats Khan again while down on points.
By throwing some recklessly and not having the chin to back it up, Khan litterally sets himself up to be countered with hard punches, which Garcia would once again do...especially because Khan seems to get tagged with counter hooks so easily.

His ring IQ is such that he is in love with his hand speed and ability to throw rapid combinations. Against lesser fighters, he can overwhelm them with this tactic, but against fighters who can handle his punches and throw back at the same time with good pop, he gets in trouble.

Yeap, in fact, it was a miracle he survived the Maidana fight.
Khan - Ortiz would be entertaining though.

Khan showed little improvement. He threw the same combinations and was getting hit by left hooks all night, against a full lww or anyone with decent pop, he would be hurt. I think Khan needs a few more months with Hunter to really get into the Virgil mindset and start picking up the necessary defensive tricks. He is quick enough to throw 3-4 punch combinations and has become obsessed with that one single skill/gift.
What he needs to do is sit back and make his opponents miss, countering with sharp punches he is physically capable of but has yet to learn. But hey, Khan is still an exciting fighter to watch who apart from Fagan and Molina has had a very good run of competition since the Prescott loss.

Khan has the physical tools to cover his chin issues, just a shame that he lacks the mental ability to use his tools properly.
