I'm not in denial about anything and I've said all along Floyd beats Hatton in a rematch and even in the first fight. Unlike yourself, my thoughts aren't influenced by who I support.
In reality most people's opinions are influenced by who they support. Including me.
I mean I'm a big Oscar fan. I think he beat Mayweather. But I say that cuz I really wanted to see him get the win. After watching the fight without my Oscar colored glasses on, it was clear Mayweather deserved the win. Oscar is still a very good fighter. But I accepted the fact that he's not great fighter. He's past his prime. And I think guys like Cotto and Mayweather would beat him right now. But I still root for him. Some times we need to accept the fact that our fighter just can't beat a certain fighter

To be honest the first time I saw that fight I thought Oscar had won. Even Floyd Sr implied Oscar had done enough to win just after the fight. Then I watched closely and the punches weren't landing but he put up a great effort considering he's past his best. It's normal to root for your favourite boxers. I think people are getting the wrong impression and think I think Hatton would school Floyd under certain circumstances. All I'm saying is the ref was a disgrace and Hatton didn't show up. He put up a brave effort and took some big shots but he was below par. I can accept critism of Hatton whereas some Floyd fans cannot.
The reason for the Hatton hate comes from MANY things.
1. His snuggle style. 2. His fans excuses for him getting sprawled out.
3. The fight with Floyd. We kept hearing how amazing Hatton was (as if we hadn't seen him fight) like we were missing something. All of us that said Floyd would smoke Hatton were laughed at by Hatton fans who said "oh Ricky will pressure Floyd till he pops blah blahblah." I expected the fight to be somewhat competitive. Hatton came out and got absolutely dominated. There's plenty more reasons for not liking Hatton.
I agree with all this. It also wasn't just his fans making excuses, it was him too which annoyed me. If Ricky would have just said i lost to the better man on the night, without bitching about Cortez, i would have much more respect for him.

He did give credit to Floyd in the post fight press conference.

Yeah, after the fight he was gracious and cool. But since then he has been in the newspapers over here talking about Cortez all the time and talking about how he wasn't a 147 fighter. I would prefer it if he just said, i got stopped by the better man.
