Having 5 real 147 pound good boxers, he picked Ricky who is a natural 140, and I think he did it because he knew how garbage Hatton was @ 147 from the Collazo fight. I don't think beating Hatton is that big of an achievement.
Floyd need to fight top welters, not Balmodirs a Judahs only
Floyd would have made Duran say "No mas" just like Leonard did. What's your excuse for Floyd's career pre-Baldomir? Or have you only seen his fights at 140+?

man U R obviosuly another person who only knows Duran by the no mas incident. In case you don't know the story, the only time Duran fought Leonard in good shape ( June 1980 ), he beat him. Then Leonard use a very smart tactic, making a rematch offer when Duran was up to 230 pounds, Duran's trainer couldn't refuse ( they say it was a very good $$$ offer ) and Duran used diuretics, sleeping pills and not eating at all to make the weight. By fight night, Duran was in the worst shape of his whole boxing career, dehydrated also and Leonard took advantage of that and started dancing on him and Duran quit cuz he was not going to fight a dancing clown under those circumstances. Duran then use the stomach cramps excuse ( which I find hard to believe ) to justify what he did. In other words, he quit due to physical inability to perform and Leonard's stupidity, not because Leonard was a superior fighter. BTW did I mentioned that that fight was not in Duran's prime weight class ?
If Floyd fights that Duran, probbably yeah, a "no mas" is a possibility, but if he fight a prime lighweight Duran, he would get schooled, just look at the way he struggled against Castillo in their first fight, and then compare Castillo's skills and power to Duran's in that WC, you'll have you answer
I have all of Duran's fights. He was phenomenal, but Floyd would have made him quit. Leonard tried to bang with him in the first fight, just like he claimed he would. He then said he would outbox him in the rematch and he did. Had Leonard boxed the first time the result would have been identical. By the way I am far from ignorant. That was uncalled for.

I know you hate Duran SS, but what you said is pugilistic blasphemy. Some old time fighters get over rated becuase of their records but in this case your way off base. Roberto had power, speed, great timing, versatility, stamina, ferociousness, boxing ability, and an underated great defense. Floyd would get beaten up and dominated at any weight against an in shape Hands Of Stone, especialy at lightweight.
He outboxed Shane Mosley while backing up for about 3 rounds guys.
He was moving against Mosley he wasn't forced onto the back foot.
When Cotto is toe to toe and gets caught he imediatly backs off and covers up alowing the other fighter to mount an attack. Against Margarito that will be suicide.
