cotto needs to fight mayweather to get that national recognition. he can fight oscar to get some recognition, but mayweather has already been there done that. like floyd said all roads lead to him. i don't think cotto needs to fight anyone else per say, but it helps if he does.
i don't know why, but i'm beginning to think both camps have some kind of preliminary agreement in place. they're probably sitting back and enjoying the fact that fight is being speculated about as much as it is. both guys are just trying to add some zeroes to the end of that check!
They do and they have. This is how it works. The rest is just part of the show around what is really going on. I've said this for a while no that when Hatton called out Floyd it was planned to a "t." That call out was just for the public and meant to hype the already planned fight. Think about it...the longer people scream for Mayweather-Cotto the sweeter it will be when it comes off. There's so much time for build up that this fight could get up to 2 million buys if everything is done just right. I'm talking MAJOR media hype. You have to get Cotto's name up a lot first though, and with Cotto's antisocial persona that will be tough. All I gotta say is Floyd better not lose to Oscar and Cotto better be careful with Margarito if they fight.
