Personally if I was Mayweather I'd be dead keen to fight at 140 and prove the 7 pouns made no difference.

I know it didn't and it definitely doesn't justify a rematch, but Hatton has said it several times and Graham has aswell. It was mentioned in the lead up to the fight aswell. Actually at the time I wasn't to convinced by the argument but in hindsight I don't think Hatton has the potential to be as good at 147. He is a very strong bloke at 140 and based on his two performances moving up it's fairly clear he lost his edge.

None of that is to say that it will alter the outcome. Mayweather has never knocked out a real Welterweight and he's probably better at 140. My point is I was Mayweather and a rematch was happening I'd be looking to take every possible excuse away from Hatton.

There's no need to prove anything. Hatton is a great guy. But the fight was one-sided. And it will be again if they fight
