Tszyu wasn't completely shot. He was just coming off of long inactivity and got handcuffed in the fight. Castill was shot. I'll give you that, but Hatton is better than some people are leading on.

I don't see what going to the pub and having beers in between fights has to do with anything. Also you can't blame Hatton for beating up washed out fighters pretty convincingly. He got the job done.

Now get lost

Calzaghe will win if he doesn't freeze up due to being away from his home.

Hatton is an excellent fighter. Not as great as some people think but not a club fighter either. He's the best in his division until he gets beat.

I agree. Great post, and Hatton > Cotto.

My view of Ricky Hatton isn't quite as extreme as alot of guys here. I get frustrated when people suggest Hatton has always followed 'the best fight the best'.. he spent about 5-6 years messing about with the WBU title fighting washed-up fighters & nobodies.

But credit where credit is due, he beat Kostya Tszyu good and proper. Tszyu wasn't at his peak, and had been inactive, but IMO Kostya was still the best 140lber in the world at that time. He beat the man, therefore he was the man at 140 and rightfully so. Since then i give Hatton credit for fighting at a good level but he hasn't really impressed me with his performances. I never thought much of Maussa, against Collazo/Urango Hatton looked less than impressive and Castillo was clearly not anywhere near the fighter he once was. And against Mayweather he was thoroughly outclassed.

IMO Ricky has something to prove again now, he needs to look impressive and back to his old self vs. Laczano then needs to beat Malignaggi impressively again. If he beat Laczano, Malignaggi & Witter he'd deserve a second fight with Floyd.

I think Hopkins always has the edge regardless of who he fights.

He has infinite boxing knowledge coupled with P4P skills. Like a great boxing trainer that fights.

BHop is also the best dirty fighter I've ever seen. His ring vision is unparalleled, he always seems to know what the ref can see, so he knows when to sneak in his elbows, and head butts.

If JC tries to throw those weak arm punches his way, he will just tie his arms up and push him around.

I agree with much of this, and I will be rooting for Hopkins. I'm just not sure how Hopkins is going to react to Calzaghe's onslaught. Sure, he doesn't punch like a mule, but he does enough to make you pay attention. The fight is close to a toss-up for me, but I'm putting my name on Calzaghe.
