I think people are optimistic because Roy's main weakness is his chin and Calzaghe isn't much of a puncher. But Roy's other weaknesses are his legs and his stamina, Roy spends alot of time on the ropes with his guard up but Calzaghe is going to be catching the judges eye even when hes hitting gloves. And Roy tends to take rounds off, whereas Calzaghe is active every round for 3 minutes. It all points towards a Calzaghe UD IMO.

I agree with you...Everything points to a Calzaghe UD.
Even thought Calzaghe is no youngster too, his legs can hold on 12 rounds witha lot of energy and movement. In the bernard Hopkins fight I'd say he had enough energy for 12 rounds.
Jones might win some rounds with brillant sharp counterpunching flurries but I dont believe he can do it enough to steal the fight.

I completely agree but if RJ shows up all of this goes out the window. I'll put 100k on Roy. You're in?

Ya know, i've seen problems in Calzaghe's stamina lately, nothing big, but age is definently catching up with him too.
I agree age is starting to catch up, but i still think he has the stamina to last 12 rounds at a good pace. In a years time Calzaghe will definetly be there for the taking though.

I dont think jones will have to use his legs much, I think this is going to be a toe to toe fight. Neither are really boxers by definition, they usually just toy with their opponents. This is going to be very interesting.
