What the hell kind of fight fan are you?! Does the sweet science mean anything to you? There haven't been many better practitioners of it than this guy over the last thirty years.

The only guys Toney has ever outboxed has been washed up or not that good. He got outboxed for 10 rounds against Nunn until he caught him, Jones humiliated him. He got beat by Rahman imo altho it was a draw, he got beat by c class fighters like Montell Griffin, he got beat by Samuel Peter and he has been caught using steroids number of times. And the excuse his fans use is that he didnt train and was overweight!!! well what kinda excuse is that i cant rate a fighter for what he couldave been but for what he did and he never did anything great. Beating not that good fighters in dominating fashion tells me nothing. James Toney couldave been amazing but his poor work ethic and his poor choice of food to eat made him not that good in my eyes.

good post Shane and Ulster, its something im looking to see aswell. he wont always be able to blast heavies out of there and will be interesting to see how he copes in a 12 rounder.

James Toney is a great boxer, he's one of the few doctors of the sweet science. And his work ethic was very bad near the end of his career when he was using steroids. And beating Sam Peter and a prime RJ are hard things to do, so losing to them is not the end of the world. He's a future HOF member for sure.

If it is Toney he's facing chances are it's going the distance. I think it'll be pretty much one way traffic depending on his stamina. If Haye gets the job done early then there's even more reason to get excited about him.

Haye would have a lot of problems dealing with the Toney that just moved up from cruiserweight to beat Holyfield.
