Foreman: 70's or 90's

Was George Foreman a better fighter in the 70's or the 90's? In the 70's he was an agressive monster that powered through the ring. In the 90's he was conservative and defensive and waited for his shots.

Foreman, better in later years

When he was an angry man, he made bad decisions that cost him

he claims the Ali fight was rigged, stolen. He did not say Ali had anything to do with it, but somebody doped him up. He says he felt funny and got worse during the fight

Later years he was wiser, made a pot full of money

Ali got several breaks in his career, the Foreman fight, two fights stolen from Ken Norton and it seems a few others where the refs were over taken with the Ali popularity

Funny this is, Foreman still claims he wanted to make a comeback at 55! He seriously contemplated this. He still feels that he can whoop one contender using his left and another with his right. He sure is entertaining.

All I can say about Big George is, I don't care if he is 155, I will never NEVER count him out again. He proved himself to me and I wont doudt him. I don't want to see him back in the ring ( wel I do wnat to see him fight but you know what I mean).

The real question should be the 70's Foreman or the 80's Tyson. =p

I think the 90's Foreman would beat the 70's Foreman. Call me crazy, but the older George was more patient, and relaxed a lot more, unlike his younger version of himself. He could also take a good beating, like in the Holyfield fight. The old George outlasts the younger one, and MAYBE stops him.

I agree that Foreman is better now that he's older.

HE WAS PHYSICALLY BETTER IN THE 70,s .HE WAS SMARTER IN THE 90,s.
iIT IS OBVIOUS THAT HE WAS A MUCH STRONGER AND AGRESSIVE FIGHTER IN THE 70.,S .IMAGINE IF IN TYHE 70,S HE KNEW WHAT HE NOW KNOWS.HE WOULD BE INVINCABLE. BUT I WOUL;D STILL HAVE TO SAY THAT IN THE 70,S HE WAS BETTER.

I didnt get to see him fight in his 1st career I was to young but watchin replays I would say he was better back then . He has such a good chin in the comeback that he could have a chance against anyone in the 90's.
