He had
the best jab in boxing history. Even better than Ali, Liston, Louis, and Lewis's. IMO he is a shoe in for the top 5 because he had 20 title defences, was the heavyweight champion for 7 1/2 years, and lost his title in a disputed decision, and lost the rematch in a disgraceful decision to boxing, almost no one who saw that fight said Spinks won. Also, in his comeback in the 90's he beat a prime Ray Mercer, took Holyfield the distance and even made him look silly by slipping a punch which caused Holyfield to fall down. He failed to regain the title to Olivar McCall by 1 point on 2 score cards, and he lost a disputed decision to Brian Neilson for the IBF or IBO title. That is only some of it. IMO that there is enough to be a top 5 guy.
