I've come to have interest now in watching that whole fight round per round again, tonight. I haven'nt watched it for a while. Actually, I had two tapes of the Marciano-Moore fight, one with the crowd noise and televised commentary included ... and another tape round per round of the same fight ... on even better quailty of film still .. in which Marciano himself called his own fight .. round per round with Moore ... and on that tape that particular tape the fight was filmed at a little different angles ... and that helps to even see more.

I remember being very impressed with not just with Marciano the way he fought that fight, but also with Moore as for how he fought that fight!

After I have watched both tapes of that one fight again tonight ... just to refresh my memory, and then may have more to say about tomorrow.

But I do remember it being a great fight ... and in my veiw at least as best I remember no easy fight for Maricano ... and by his own admission that it wasn't also.

When the fight was over, he was glad it was over. It was no easy fight for him, what I saw, and remember him to have said about that fight as well.

I'm not saying it wasn't an easy fight for him, I'm just saying Marciano was winning rounds 3 and on.

Gee, I make so many typos ... that I'm suprised you could even understand my post, Bill. I have sinced edited may last post to make it an easier read.

Oh, well whoever said ex-fighters could type? (smiling)

I know what your saying, Bill, about the Marciano-Moore fight!

Rocky Marciano is my most favorite fighter ... and Sugar Ray Robinson ... is the fighter I most admire.

Only, I think I may give Archie Moore a little more credit for the way he fought that fight with Maricano than you do.

Sometimes when people watch a fight they may not both see the same things ... or to percieve things in the same way.

After I have watched that fight again, I may start a new discussion tomorrow "Your Thoughts about the Marciano-Moore Fight" and perhaps something interesting may come out as for ways ... different people saw the fight. That is, if we have many here who did or have seen that fight. My thought is perhaps few here had or have ever seen the fight. I'm not sure.

Ive seen the fight many-a-time, but I must admit Moore did pretty good in the first 3 rounds, but after that Marciano just overwhelmed him.

Hey, Bill.

Having watched the whole fight again last night to refresh my memory, I would have to agree.

But I would like to talk about it a little bit ... for I think it may would be interesting to do so ... as for all that happened in that fight! Maybe better to start a new thread ... to do so, if you agree?

Sugar Ray Leonard: His only legitimate loss was a close decision to Duran who could arguably be mentioned here as well. He later not only beat Duran twice but also Hearns and Hagler.

The amount of KO's does not matter, its the KO percentage. Say you have 200 wins, but you only KO'd 100 of them, your KO percentage would be 50% which isn't very good. Marciano had a 88% KO average, Foreman had a 90%, and Shavers had a whopping 92%, Moore's KO percentage was 70%, 184 wins, 130 KO's.

Archie Moore, is a legend.

Archie Moore was one helluva great fighter! He was the champ ... the light heavyweight champion of the world. And that was at a time when the sport had much more talent in it than today.

Archie Moore ... was one of the greats.

He could box, and he could punch and he knock you out. Archie Moore was a very skilled and clever fighter.
