i do agree however that if lewis and tyson had met in there primes that fight could have been diffrent but they didn't, lewis was so dominating in his win over tyson and that is why i give him the slight edge.

I dont care for holyfeild but just for the sake of dissagreeing

Bowe Moorer vs McCall Rahman These four guys fall pritty much in the same category talent wise, I would even give an advantage to Bowe and Moorer. So if Lewis could lose to McCall and Rahman I beleive he could loose to Bowe or/and Moorer.

I do agree with you that Lewis dominated an old Tyson, but thats not really something to brag about when you consider the point in tysons career that it happened thats like Holmes beating Ali or Marciano beating Louis, all that it really means is that aside from George Foreman old worn out guys get beat up by guys who they would have dusted in there prime.

People say Tyson flatened a prime Holmes when that is wrong, Holmes's prime was 1978-1983 not 88 or 85. And it was his first fight after a 3 year retirement. Tyson was in his mid 30's when he fought Lewis, and Holyfield wasn't that good.

Young Tyson was awesome & intimidating but once Cus was gone & he went outa control it was an average career. Was beatin badly by bums late in his career

Sad but true.Ithink when Jacobs died and King took over that was the real begining of the end.A big if,but IF IF IF- I think Tyson would have been the best.
The knock on Lewis is ,even tho he reversed the losses He lost to a couple of not so good fighters by ko when he was suppose to be prime if not close to it.
Holyfield, except for the end of his career has just about always been exciting
There are so many titles and bad fighters out there ole Evander might pick up another belt (like ole George).

George's pure punching power was what got him the title, not as much skill as a good, clean, shot against a so-so champ.

Question

By Lewis and Holyfield admitted that when watching Tyson in the 80s... they seriously thought "Could I take him?"

Sorry, couldn't help myself.

I picked Lewis for the same reasons most of the others did. I'd put Holyfield second though for having heart. He may have lost more fights, but he was always game, and always kept fighting even when he was taking a hellacious beating.

The only comparision I was making was that another old guy might get a title.

Thumbs down

If any way, shape or form of Lewis/Holyfield took on Mike Tyson during his 80s Prime... they'd be knocked in no less than 8 Rounds!!! However... after that Spinks fight (the best of Mike Tyson's career)... that was it... pretty much anybody could've beaten Mike Tyson! When you're up against a shorter, slower guy who simply relies on that one big punch... you just gotta pick him apart... keep your distance... and just like Lewis did to Tyson in Round 8 of their fight on June 8 2002...SMASH he crumbles!

lewis had the best overall career, despite Tyson being the best boxer of the three.

I agree with this. Although I think Lewis had better skills, tyson had more power and was more imposing.
