But hey it is not always possible to correctly ascertain empahsis on flat forums, so perhaps your words/the way I read them or a combination of the two ( be it you or me) are a little different from your intention. Well, its sorta simple actually.. Tyson usually had his opponent hurt/down with a big punch, and not a barrage/combination itself. got it? and well, he was a great finisher whenever he sensed he had his foe hurt.

.
Not really, hence my points. I disagree a little, but it is not a big deal, just slightly differing opinions and I respect you and like what you write so

tyson forever is on a distinguished road
tysons power is becoming serously underrated. people always say tyson couldnt knock a guy with one shot . i mean who did foreman didnt knock frazier with one shot . he had to keep hitting him and shavers only ever knocked out glass chinned fighters like ken norton . against granite chinned fighters like ali and tex cobb his power was useless. okay tyson couldnt knock glass chinned mcbride well thats because tyson couldnt hit him . i mean foreman couldnt knock glass chinned morrison does that mean his power was overrated . And for those of you who say tysons power was all about speed . watch his exhibition fight with corrie sanders a guy with a very good chin and tysons kos him and has to hold him multiple times whenever he hit him with a decent shot . i mean sanders had head gear and tyson had 16 ounce gloves and was pulling his punches and he was still flooring sanders. while tyson might of not being the hardest puncher in heavyweight history . his power is definitely up their with liston, shavers and foreman. nobody in the heavyweight divsion today has tysons power.

Tyson's power is overrated. People are going around calling him the hardest puncher of all time. Guys who fought a lot of very hard punchers usually said that Tyson wasn't the hardest hitter. Holmes who fought Shavers, Weaver, Cooney, Mercer, "Bonecrusher" Smith, and McCall said that Shavers was the hardest puncher he ever faced. He said Tyson was the SHARPEST puncher. There is a huge difference. Everyone who fought Shavers said he was the hardest puncher they ever faced. There is no shame in not being able to drop Tex Cobb. Shavers dropped Ali and Holmes and both of them had iron chins. He dropped Tillis who Tyson couldn't KO either. Norton didn't have a glass jaw, it was average in a league of huge hitters. He also had the wrong fight plans. Trying to counter punch Shavers from the ropes is stupid, and even stupider trying to do it against Foreman. Shavers knocked out Jimmy Ellis with a right uppercut and Ellis had a good jaw. There are different kinds of power. There are the thudding types like what Shavers and Foreman had. There are the 1 punch KO types like Rocky Marciano and Julian Jackson, and there are the sharp punchers like Thomas Hearns and Mike Tyson. We also have to remember that 90% of Tyson opponents were terrified going into the ring and weren't mentaly prepared which is a huge problem. They were ready to fall when the ref was giving instructions. And if you are talking about people having to knock people down multiple times, that is Tyson. It took him 3 against Holmes before the ref stopped it. 2 against Spinks. Typically 2 or 3 when he was just starting out and fighting the club fighters.
