you call yourself a real collector with that little ass collection. ive been collecting fights for god knows how long, and now im ont a real collector because i like to spruce it up a little. I do it out of appreciate, and some love it and prefer it to just a plain old regular menu. And im pulling half the sleeves off the dvd's i sent you as we speak, try running to walmart and see if you can find what im talking about, they cost about 1.00.

and also about this real collector ****, a real collector doesnt expect a 1970 fight to look like a 2007 fight. Your not goign to find any sugar ray robinson fights or carmen basillio fights or kid gavilan fights that are mint condition, you'll be lucky to find those fights in good condition, you cant call yourself a REAL DEAL collector unless you lay off the excellent quality ****. I myself love if the fight is great quality but im not goign to throw fights away or send them back if they arent 10/10. Thats just rediculous.

Dude,

You claimed that the other fights that I asked for "looked just as good as your Tito/Mayorga and that simply was not the case". And, if your policy is to care about stupid motion menus rather than the care of DVDs of whom you sell or trade with...then that's where we differ by a mile! Did you know that when you add those dumb menus, you are actually comprimising the picture quality? In order to add those things ...you have to make ANOTHER COPY TO PUT THEM ON. That's why I don't waste time with that stuff. Keep your thousands of fights buddy...because you know nothing about preserving the quality and all but one of your fights in the DEMO showed it.

LOL!! It's the quality buddy ,not the quantity, that's why I sent yours back to you.

Anyone buddy can get 4000 mediocre fights by the truck load and call themselves a collector these days.

think what you want on how i obtained my fights, i appolagize for the motion menu's but ive hardly ever seen a degrade in quality because of it, especially whe only one fight is on the disc. I preserve all the newest fights to the best of my ability, but seeing how im only 23 years old, i havent been around as long as some, so i am unable to preserve fights that happened before my time. But i do a great job on keeping the new ones in great shape. the tito mayorga fight that was in my demo was excellent quality but wasnt even as good as pac/marquez. To each their own.

im sorry but mr.jacobs, ya know the biggest collector in history, wasnt known as a collector for his quality, it was for his quantity of fights in his library. Ive actually purchased a few 8mm tapes from him, the quality isnt good but i guarentee you not many have the fights he has. We obviously just have differnt views on the ways of collecting. But by know means would i say the quality of any of my fights are bad. Im probabley a more picky person than you, hell i cant even watch showtime boxing ( even though i do ) because of the way the lighting is. But all the fights i sent you were good enough for me and good enough for the hundred i have dealt with. Im sorry i couldnt help you.

You dont have a clue how much 4000 fights would cost on the market. I originally started out when i was 12 years old and spent 3000 dollars i saved up on close to 1000 fights. After that, i decided to trade. Im married with a kid, sophmore in college, Boxing part time and work full time to support my family. Im no where near perfect, but i assure you, i dont spent every last penny i have on boxing fights by the truckload. Goodluck with your collection, once again, im sorry.

Lance,

I just started recording all my new fights from HBO, Showitme and PPV in Hi-Definition and the pic looks great, maybe that would solve your problems with Showtime.

Lance, Hey dude, I didn't want to bring this crap to this forum . I have been recording since 1989 but stopped trading in 1990 due to the crappy quality that VHS to VHS offered. I bought a DVDR in 2004 and contacted all my old fight collector buddies and re-did all the fights that were originally 2nd gen VHS copies, it was no small project.DVD recorders were the only reason I came back to trading. As you saw on that DEMO, they are fights from the 70's 80's ,90's to now that just look absolutely amazing! It's common sense not to expect fights from the 70's to look like todays recordings but, DVD recorders can make exact and even inhance original recordings. But these DVD's have there limitations aswell, like re-recording them to add Menus etc,it dilutes the image and integrity of the original. If you think about it...who trades or buys DVDs to watch the menu? Anyway, lets call a truce...cool?

LOL!! Sorry about the "truck load theing". Lance , I'll let you in on a little secret, other than 17yrs ago, I have never paid for a fight from another collector because of my reputation. The key for me was to be upfront with my fellow collectors and be straight with them. Out of all the collectors that I have traded with from all over the world ...there are very few that are honest. I have always been straight and honest and respectful, once you start trading with the elder traders and with your best stuff, your rep will grow and you'll be able to trade with anyone.

alright man, truce, i do have a few questions though. I noticed you did have some hd fights on your demo, like castillio corrales 1 and II. Do you just use regular dvd's and a regular dvd recorder to do that? and do they play good quality on non hd tv's.
