Mosley definetly put the pressure on Cotto. Like you said, Cotto showed he has immense boxing skills in the Mosley fights and Margarito is terrible in that department.

Im picking Cotto by surprisingly wide UD.

it was definately an admirable thing for cotto to be able to adapt to mosley after mosley adapted to him. i think margarito is stronger than mosley, and if mosley was able to hurt him to the body then margy could hurt him there as well. margy loves to bang the body too people.

i think we'll see a clear decision victory, but i don't think it's going to be wide by any means.

Yeah but Margarito throws alot of slow and wide punches. Cotto has much better handspeed and throws very precise accurate combinations. I think Cotto can definetly hurt Margarito to the body, he will work it alot because he knows its the only way hes stopping Margarito (aside from cuts). I think Cotto has alot of success countering Margarito in this fight.

margy will be the biggest fighter cotto has fought to date. methinks he'll be able to take what cotto is dishing out, and will be able to return fire with some nasty uppercuts. a punch margy loves to throw so i don't see him shelving that punch like mosley did. the only way i see cotto winning a wide decision is if he boxes margy the whole fight. cotto likes to bang, but margy likes to bang even more and he doesn't stop throwing punches which makes up for the slowness in which his punches are delivered. i can't wait to see this fight, man! i'm thinking cotto by close decision, but if he stops margarito i can see just about everyone on this board picking him to beat floyd. i still wouldn't tab cotto to beat floyd even after accomplishing such an impressive feat.

Good post Mark. You make a very convincing argument for a possible upset here However, Cotto has shown me enough lately for me to think hes smart enough to box in this fight. I expect him to box off the back foot, keeping his jab in Margarito's face and opening up when Margarito gets sloppy. Margarito will have his moments, but im taking Cotto by decision something like 116-112/117-111.

i really can't wait for this one. i think it will go the distance with cotto winning it by a couple of rounds.

and then hopefully ducky will have to fight the winner and stop ducking them. i actually think ducky would beat margarito but i reckon cotto has got a hell of a chance of beating ducky. so come on cotto!!!!!!

If Cotto can box effective for 12 rounds he can win a UD.
