Not Worhty

Did anyone see Margaritos last couple of fights?

I don’t understand how this guy gets a shot at Miguel.

The only real wins were against Kermit Cintron. He could not beat Paul Williams and was given a gift with Clottey . Daniel Santos was beating the living crap out of him. All this time Miguel was fighting real opponents. I mean really who the F@#$ is Golden Johnson, Tony cries when beats a nobody I want this guy well I think he got what he wanted I can’t wait to hear what he has to say when he losses. He will probably want to fight Mayweather who knows this guy is a joke.

I completely agree. AM looked so slow against williams. Cotto hits a lot harder than him (although the early ko in williams quintana II was really impressive.) The only reason anyone's impressed with AM is the Cintron fights. But Cintron was a perfect match for him. He's a puncher with no boxing skills. Emanuel Lewis said this during their second fight. Cintron hit him as hard and clean as he could over and over, but AM's got a cast-iron chin. That doesn't impress me. Cotto's gonna take him apart. I've seen too many stoppages in Miguel's fights from body punches, nasty cuts and closed eyes to think that AM's got a chance. Cotto by ud or ko in late rounds.

Verdict is an unknown quantity at this point
Man, whoever thinks Cotto is gonna win this fight by ko must really love this guy. This fight is just to unpredictable to call, Antonio Margarito is a beast, a non-stop fighter while Cotto is more relaxed. Losing to Paul Williams is nothing bad, cause if Cotto beats Margarito, bet that Williams is next, and that fights gonna be even tougher than this Margarito fight.

On another note,
Paul Williams record is 34 Wins (KO 25) 1 Lost
Antonio Margaritos record is 36 Wins (KO 26) 5 Lost
Paul Williams beat Antonio Margarito, has the better record and is Ranked 4 in the Welterweight divison while Margarito is ranked 2 in the welterweight division

Whoa!!!
Firstly, I agree with you that the fight is pretty much unpredictable, even though Cotto will probably be a 2.5-1 maybe even 3-1 favorite as the match-up commences. However, who the heck wants to see Paul Williams get crushed by Cotto? Everyone can assume what will happen. Williams was the antithesis to Margarito's style, and was able to win (more or less survive) that fight. But thinking that he might do the same thing to Cotto is more than wishful thinking; it's complete dementia! For all you Paul Williams fanboys, I have one word "Timber!"

I think Cotto is going to school Margarito in this fight, it will be a hell of a battle but Cotto is just a far superior fighter. I think Margarito will get knocked down once or twice and Cotto will win by a large UD.

Cotto-Williams will then be the big fight in the division that we all want to see, its all Cotto has left in the welterweight division and then the only thing he can really do is move up unless he is content on just dominating welterweight for years to come.

Maybe he could move up to middleweight and fight Pavlik (you can dream )
