What weight are your currently fighting at?

201

Was it your dad that influenced you into getting into boxing?

No. He didn't want me to box. I just love the game and I watch it all the time and know so much about it that it was just natural for me to start doing it. Having my dad is just extra.

What was it like for you to see your dad knockout lennox lewis and win the heavyweight title?

It was an amazing experience. I've never felt like that before, no one gave him a chance but he proved the world wrong.

Do you remember what you were doing at the time?

I was with my family in Baltimore, everyone was screaming so loud I couldn't hear myself screaming, it was pretty cool.

What are your plans on turning pro?

I'm going to try to win the Gold Medal for the USA in the 2012 olympic games first. Then we'll see about going pro, but that's definetly the plan.

Who is your favorite fighter, besides your dad, that is currently fighting?

Zab "Super" Judah or Floyd "Money" Mayweather Jr.

What are your thoughts on the current heavyweight division?

I think it's underrated. There's a lot of talent out there, I think the boxing public just wants to see one person come in and dominate everyone like Ali, Tyson, and Lennox did, but it takes time and that person will come soon.

I bet that was an amazing experience watching your father knock out the heavy favored champion of the world the way he did. good luck to him in the olympics.

He's agreed to letting us know how his ameteur career is going and I'll keep you guys updated in this thread. I think its a great idea to follow his development to the 2012 olympics.

Sounds like a cool guy and i cant imagine how great it felt to see his dad knock out the champ, but ofc having your dad as a fighter has it downsites like rematches for example
