Round Seven: Pacquiao again lands the powerful left. Diaz pushes Pacquiao away as they are told to break, unhappy about something. Pacquiao is the one landing again, he's just too powerful. Everytime he throws a combo Diaz very rarely fires much in return. Too one-sided.
Round Eight: To his credit, Diaz is hanging in there, trying desperately to fire back, but it's no good. Diaz is only landing the odd punch, and even then it ain't powerful enough to hurt Pacquiao. Pacquiao again lands solid combos. This may go 12, it may not. Diaz' face looks bad.
Round Nine: A good start for Diaz, he lands a couple of nice looking shots, but it's only a matter of time before Pacquiao takes over again. Pacquiao then lands a jab followed by a powerful left and Diaz collapses to the ground. Referee Vic Drakulich immediatly waves it off. Good call. Diaz is slumped on the floor. Pacquiao congratulates Diaz and then salutes the crowd. Pacquiao wins in Round 9. Now a Lightweight World Champion as well.
Michael Buffer officially announces the result. David Diaz is given a round of applause, but he knows he was outclassed. Pacquiao was dominant. He looked good tonight. And strong. I hope you enjoyed the PBP
I'm always gonna struggle to recognize him as the best when imo Marquez beat him twice.
You're entitled to your opnion. I scored both fights a draw and I wouldn't mind watching a 3rd one to settle the score. The thing is they might be evenly matched but Pacquiao has accomplished more than Marquez. He beat the better opposition and won titles in 5 different divisions. His legacy is greater.
