Nonito Donaire is a Filipino professional boxer. He was born on 16th November 1982, and he is the reigning IBF Flyweight champion.
Donaire won his professional debut by 1st round KO, before losing his second fight over a 5 round decision. Donaire came back well winning many consecutive fights. In January 2006 he won the vacant NABF Super-Flyweight championship by SD over Kahren Harutyunyan. After some defences of this title, Donaire dropped down in weight to fight at Flyweight.
Donaire's first big fight came in July 2007, against IBF & IBO Flyweight champion Vic Darchinyan. Darchinyan was undefeated in 28 pro bouts and seen as one of the hardest P4P punchers around, however Donaire dispatched him with relative ease via TKO5. Donaire was ahead on one card, with the other two cards being even at the time of the stoppage. It ended in a devastating KO, which was one of the best of the year. Donaire defended his belt for the first time in later in the year with an 8th round TKO victory over Luis Maldonado.
Donaire next bout is on 4th April 2008, when he defends his IBO & IBF Flyweight title against Hussein Hussein.
