I just got a new leather rope today (used to have one of those synethic ones) and now having a more expensive leather one, I finally need to ask. How do I straighten out the damn thing? You know how when they come tied up in a box you unravel it but the creases are still in the rope? Granted it becomes more straight/smooth while in motion and jumping, but I'd still like it to be generally non-creased and "worked in." I thought maybe they just needed to get worked in to get like that, but I used my previous synthetic rope for 2 years and it still kept ther creases. Now I wanna know if theres a way to get rid of them on the leather rope.

I'm probably rambling at this point and using ****ty terminology, but I hope you get the idea.

Alrite mate i bought one too a couple weeks ago. Easiest thing was to put a small nail or tack in a wall high up and hang it up. Nail doesnt have to be big as the rope isnt that heavy. Mines now straight and after a couple weeks of use (hanging it up each time iv finished) its now got no kinks or creases and is alot more flexible too. The leather seems to soften up alot after its been used a few times. Hope it helps worked for me.

Sounds stupid too but dont use it on concrete as after about 2 mins mine started to wear away lol!

Thanks for the info. That's actually what I did with my previous synthetic rope, always kept it hung up like that, but it always had the creases anyway. Maybe it'll work with the leather one, so I'll keep it up, but incase it doesn't work, anyone have other ideas?

I step on it lightly while i pull the jump rope up almost all the way with my left hand, and then the same with right hand.

I do that too sometimes, but that doesn't permanently straighten it.

No, not permanently. Helps loosen it up a bit though. Hanging the rope from a nail whenever its not in use will definitely get the job done, especially if the handles are weighted.
