Wanting to Box

Hey guys, I'm from Mississippi where boxing gyms are kind of hard to come by. I'm been independently training for a couple of months but am having trouble finding anywhere to sanction amateur fights. I've always been told that I have a good boxing build (20 yrs old, 5'11", 133lbs, 73" reach ) and am very anxious to get in the ring. Any help to get me in the ring would be greatly appreciated.

I would check for boxing associations in your area first. Then I would check the YMCA ,some times they will have a trainer there who knows boxing, then I would check local colleges some times they will have a coach that knows boxing. and lastly I would check out if you have any armed forces bases near you. They usually have guys on boxing teams especially the Marines. The Corps loves boxing.....good luck

That would make you a lightweight, and a tall one at that. 5'11 and 133, thats pretty good. You must be really skinny.
