Protein Shakes V Creatine Shakes

What's the difference and what would you recommend?

2 different animals my friend. Protein is necessary for building muscle as well as helping keep the muscle you already have. Creatine is used to help you more adequately use stores of ATP in your system used for burst of explosive energy. The common thing you hear about guys using creatine is that it loads your muscles with water and makes you look bigger which is true but that is not the primary use for creatine. As i said above creatine helps you use the stores of ATP (baically adrenaline) therefore helping you workout harder for longer which of course has it's benefits in training. It is extremely important that your water intake increase with both of the supplements especially with creatine as it can lead to severe cramping if your water intake is not adequate. Both supplements combined also help in recovery as well.

I heard about creatine loading water in your muscles but I wasn't sure if it was a myth or what. So basically creatine is used to help you train for longer to gain fake muscles? And protein gives you better results if you work out the way you would normally? I think I'll stick with the protein. Thanks for the info.

I took creatine for a while when I was younger and it did seem to work but if your not looking to get buff and just fit I say stick with protein. Two different animals for sure.

Yes creatine will pump water into the muscles and yes it will make you look bigger or in my opinion bloated. That is what a lot of guys like about creatine but the real advantage is in the recovery from training. All these you kids use creatine for the obvious bloated look but really thats not what you should look for in creatine. A word of caution to you competitive boxers that need to make weight creatine can put water weight on you in a hurry.

I've been lifting weights for a few years but I've never experimented with creatine. I'll just stick with the protein. Thanks guys

Protein is also very important afetr yoru workotu for muscle recovery. It will help repair the muscle broken down during strenuous excercise a little quicker.

small doses of creatine wont hurt if you drink enough water. Your body already produces creatine so it is natuarlly. I may start taking a small dosage soon because I havent gained much weight on the extra 100g of protein a day.

Thanks for the info. I'll probably check it out but at the minute I'll stick with protein. At least now I know more about both.

Well if you ever decide to use creatine start out with the GNC amplified creatine 189. Its 2 pills a day that equal 5 grams of createne. Most packages come with 120 pills. So it'll last you 2 months for a price of 40 bucks. Its great for beginners and can be used with protein shakes. You can take it anytime.
