One of the guys at my gym today was talking about a surgery that some boxers have done that permamently prevents nose bleeds. I've heard of this a long time ago too. Im not thinking about doing it or anything i just wanted to know if its true. I forgot what he said it was called, but i think it started with a C. Has anyone heard of this?

aye m8 i had it done but it was because i broke my nose 3 times in like a month when i was young. that was about 7 years ago n never had a nose bleed since.

I believe they cauterize some of the capillary beds in the rear of your nose to prevent perfusive bleeding, the name of the procedure escapes me though.

I think it's just called nose cauterization. I would think there would be some negative long term effects that go along with it though, so find out all you can before you consider trying it.

That would be the name, and it is used to treat exposed blood vessels in the nose that usually cause easier nosebleeds.
