That said, I think not winning the brass ring in your era should be such a minus that if a guy CAN enter a list without having done so, it should be near the bottom.
1) I ranked them, see post #3.

2) Wills, Langford, McVea, and Jeannette were never given a shot at the title. Rank them lower because they didn't win the title when they never got the chance? I think not.
