Bag help for a novice

My First Post.

I have been lurking the boards for quite some time, collecting information from all the great sources of info. This board is definitely more helpful than any others, of any topic, that I've come across. Cheers.

Here is my situation, then my question...

I am a long time boxing fan, but new to actually investing in it physically. I am slowly building up my garage with equipment as I don't have time to attend a gym regularly. (I have a young child that I need to be home with almost all the time).

I am uninterested in competing on any level. I am strictly in it for the cardio and strength building, and for kicks.

I say all that to say, I am trying to buy decent equipment on a budget. I am looking for a heavy bag on craigslist and have found various that are too far away to get with my car which wouldn't fit it anyway.

I have found this one for $50.

It's clearly not a looker, but do you think it will suffice? Is it a good/decent value for 50 bucks?

It's a 75lb bag. I asked and the owner said there are no hard spots or hard sides. I wouldn't be using the wall mount, but rather hanging it from the rafters. I am 6'2/205lbs. What do you think?

Don't waste your money on that peice of sh!t. That bag looks like garbage, even for 50 bucks. First of all, you need a heavier bag, for your size I'd recommend 125-150lbs, but since your on a budget(a bag like that would run you about 2-300) I'll give you some other suggestions. Everytime I go to sports authority I see bags hanging around, their poor quality everlast bags(compared to ringside, grant, etc) but they look like gold compared to that old banana peel in those pictures.
This is a 100lb bag for 80 bucks, I remember walking by one of these when I went to SA last week to get some clothes. These stores are everywhere, so get your kid and go check it out, but please for fukk sake don't waste your money on that bag and just spend the extra 30 bucks.

Yea, we have a SA right down the street. I take my kid in there and we have a ball. I bought a double end bag from there for like $30. I have some Nike weighted wristbands from there I've never used. That will cut $15 off that bag, so that'll work. I'm down to a $65 bag. Thanks.

So...here is another opportunity for you to trash me for being a cheapskate. I was in Ross last week buying some workout clothes (they have some nice DryFit Nike stuff there...I strongly recommend shopping there for stuff you'll just sweat up) and I came across some 14oz camo Everlast gloves. These.... High Performance Hook & Loop Training Gloves from Everlast.com

I got them for $9.99. Figured they were dirt cheap so I grabbed them. Theyre on the Everlast site for $29.00. Can I get away with those for a while if I'm wrapping my hands up underneath?

Holler.

I got a pair of these (eSportsonline) which can be purchased at sports authority as well although its not listed on their site. You don't have to wrap your hands and its great for mit/bag work. I would suggest investing in a good pair of bag gloves as I went through two pairs of crappy everlast gel wraps before I returned them and purchased the ones I listed above.
