Shevlin training custom gloves-Review

Shevlin custom made training gloves-16 oz

Initial thoughts:
Shevlin boxing is a company that makes custom made boxing equipment, somewhere in New York city. They can literally make any custom made color boxing gloves in every size and you can also have them custom make the glove in any way; but expect to pay a few more dollars than the standard price. Around August 25th

I called and made an order of 16 oz classic training gloves and had the customer service rep (Mona) add 2.5” inches to the length of the glove to add more wrist support than standard. I ordered three colors, the same color scheme as Ricky Hatton’s gloves that he trains with, (Red, royal blue and white). The total cost with shipping was $105 dollars (In the same price range as the Ringside IMF tech training gloves).

3 weeks later when I received them I noticed that they look a little bit cheap, but believe me, THEY ARE WELL PUT TOGETHER. The leather is soft the stitching was perfect and very well made. The padding is rather soft, they sort of feel like the standard “Everlast pro fight gloves” the padding on the shevlins soft and the inside was rather tight. But these gloves are made to be broken in and mold to your fist. After a few workout these gloves really did mold to my hands and the semi soft padding is right over the knuckle area gives great protection. The thumb area also needs some working but that also becomes broken in. With hand wraps, and tied laces, the protection is great, right up there with the IMF techs and once they are broken in they there’s nothing better.
Quality/ construction – custom made, hand stitched, great quality-9.8/10
Protection- Inside of the gloves expands nicely and molds to your fist, the more use the more comfort. 9.2/10.
Price- Price will be in and around $100 dollars ($75-$100) range or more if you want them custom, I paid $105 because of the custom wrist. As much as the IMF techs, similar protection but hey, custom colors in any combination you want.

Value- Great protection, and custom colors, where else can you get custom colors and styles, and sizes for around $100???. It’s a fantastic value for the customization options.

Overall- Provide great protection, great stitching, padding molds to your fist and are more comfortable every time, and custom colors and sizes if you want. Top Notch customer service. Thanks Mona!
Shevlins-class quality, great product, reasonable price, great protection. Highly recommend.

pics soon!
