I thought Valero was becoming one of the more over rated fighters and building some reputation for not beating anybody really special. Then he topped himself. Good riddance.

Yeah, Valero was a hype train. He was really good at crushing tomato cans.

I don't get this. Is this a list YOU would like to see more of? Or a list of fighters you think weren't covered enough?
1. If you're a Gatti fan, you saw enough. This guy put himself through Hell more times than I can count and was on HBO more than any other fighter in HBO's history.
2. Rocky Marciano. I'd like to see more but I rarely find the black and white footage compelling.

4. Edwin Valero. Most likely a hype job but he wasn't on American airwaves much so I can't say for sure. On that stand point I wish he had fought on our air more often so I could develop a better opinion. Only thing I saw was a completely undisciplined power puncher who didn't give a **** in the ring. I got the sense if it were cage fighting he would have fit right in. As for reading, well he murdered his wife and then offed himself when he got caught. Sad thing is all the bastards who made money off of him are probably just wishing they could have made more before he died, rather than trying to build his character. Boxing has way too many leeches. Sorry, off topic.
5. Joe Mesi? Now that guy was a hype job. He was straight on his way to getting KTFO by a Klitschko. He was white and American and he rode that gravy train as far as he could. IMO, he was lucky to get the brain bleed before he really got hurt.

Salvador Sanchez is probably one guy I wish we could have seen more of.

Ike Ibeabuchi is in the same boat for me.

Sanchez could've had as good a career as Chavez if not for the car crash.

Sugar Ray Leonard
Rocky Marciano (he didn't have much more to offer though, he was quickly deteriorating by the time his last fight happened)
Ike Ibeabuchi
Andre Berto (still fighting, but far too inactive)
Salvador Sanchez

Gatti

What about if Arturo Gatti that took care of himself ,never drank, stayed away from women and trained very hard. Imagine Gatti as a truly dedicated fighter who didnt get drunk every weekend and was commited with a very good trainer. How good could of Gatti of been?
