Ali vs. Tyson who wins?

Me and a couple of my buddies were arguing the other day about who would win in their prime, Mohammad Ali or Mike Tyson. I know there are alot of factors involved, and it was a different time period.

Here is a link to an article that I wrote about this fight, and how I think it would go down. I am not a spammer, I am really interested in what all of you true boxing fans think!

- Zazen Life

check it out and please comment with who you think would win.

I personally believe Ali would win due to his pyscological style, and obviously his talent, but dont forget about Tysons power..

If Tyson caught Ali with one good power punch, it's over. My pick is Tyson, but that's because I ******* hate Ali. I won't dispute that he was a great boxer, but I don't like the ******* man at all. Far too ******* arrogant to me, completely unlikeable.

Prime Ali beats Prime Tyson 9 times out of 10 because of skill and intelligence. Tyson was a beast in his prime and would have a chance if he caught Ali with a hook or Uppercut but he didn't have enough fights under his belt where he went more than 10 rounds and didn't know how to create separation when his opponents would tie up. Ali has a crazy reach advantage and a legendary chin, took shots from Liston, Frazier and Foreman.

I think Ali frustrates him early on with his jab and movement and takes him into the late rounds. If we go by Ali era rules than Ali is paced to fight 15 rounds and has no problem winning a decision.

Yea I agree, although Ali was very cocky and arrogant, he's still one of the best ever.. I don't think Tyson is mentally strong enough to beat Ali.

Ali is simply the greatest HW of all time. There is no scenario in which I can envision a Tyson win. If Shavers, Foreman and Holmes couldn't KO a past prime Ali, what chance does Tyson have against a prime Ali.

Two entertaining fights to watch Ali get matched up with if they were humanly possible would have been Prime Ali vs. Prime Holyfield and Prime Ali vs. Prime Joe Louis. I pick Ali over Holyfield but “Real Deal” had so much heart that he would have walked through fire and brimstone to land a few making the fight entertaining. Of course the Joe Louis fight would be a pick em’ for me. Louis was such an economical puncher and could flash a counter in a split second.

Greatest my azz, Tyson would clobber him into a coma, Ali's pitty pat jabs would do nothing to stop the ever pressing Tyson.
Tyson would be a George Foreman - Joe Frazier all in one with the speed of a Sugar Ray leonard, Ali wouldn't stand a prayer.....

Rofl were you high when you watched Tyson's fights? Nobody could tie him up when he was in his prime. Go back through the tapes and take another look.

Tyson had a immense flaw, psychologically he was weak, and Ali was the psychological master.

Allied with Tysons psyche he also demonstrated a lack of 'testicular fortitude', when dumped on his derriere Tyson lost all interest.

Only way Tyson beats Ali would be if Ali did not enter the ring as physically prepared as he should be, which he did on occasions.

Not demeaning Tyson at all, most fighters have achiles heels psychological issues/lack of testicular fortitude at times were Tysons.

A prime Ali beats Tyson especially if it in a 15 round fight, 15 rounds of Tyson having to deal with Ali would reduce Tyson to shouting 'No Mas No Mas'.

Tyson also for most of his pro career, lacked a corner who could help him when the going got tough, and Ali would most definitely have made it tough both physically and psychologically.

Tyson was a great but Ali was the Greatest.

I say Ali in around 6.

He took some fairly solid shots in his career and dealt with them well.

Alot of Mike's success was down to the fear many of his opponents had for him. Golota was so scared that he was drinking the days before the fight.

Ali knew how to use his reach and footwork to stay away from a punch, even though Tyson could close distances I think Ali's handspeed prevents him managing to weave his way on the inside as easy as he had it with his other opponents.
