I have a champion Golden Gloves ring from my Father.
He told me he won the ring in 1924 at Madison Square Garden NY.

Historically I can only find 1927 as the first year of the Golden Gloves, and that it was initiated in 1923. My Dad said the year he won this was the first year they gave out a ring.

Does anyone have any infirmation to share on this.

I would never part with this ring but I am curious as to it's value as well.

My dads name was Louis Kovarie. He did also tell me he went on to fight professionally for a short time but stopped at the urging of his mother.
After quiting the ring he started a boys club in NYC teaching young kids to box.
